Terms
Voluntary participation
Participation in Social Shelf is voluntary. Contributors choose whether to participate and which recordings to submit.
Your recordings
Contributors must own or control the recordings they submit and must have the right to share them with Social Shelf for research purposes.
Only submit recordings made by the contributor. Do not submit recordings created by another person or obtained from another source.
What to record
Recordings should show the contributor’s normal TikTok or Instagram feed. Contributors should not intentionally search for specific content or manipulate their feed for the purpose of the recording.
Each recording must follow the submission requirements shown on the platform, including the maximum recording length and platform limits.
Personal information
Contributors should avoid intentionally including sensitive personal information in recordings where possible.
Social Shelf uses submitted recordings for the purposes explained on the platform, including providing relevant research material to clients.
Clients receive the recordings and relevant research context, not the contributor’s private account credentials or contact details.
Account verification
Social Shelf may ask contributors to verify the social account associated with a recording. This is used to help confirm that submissions come from real contributors and authentic social accounts.
Contributors should only connect accounts they own or are authorized to use.
Compensation
Contributors receive $10 for each recording accepted after review.
Not every submitted recording is guaranteed to be accepted.
Recordings are reviewed within 48 hours, with an average review time of approximately 8 hours.
Payment is made according to the payment method and process provided by Social Shelf.
Prohibited submissions
Contributors must not submit recordings that they do not have the right to share, recordings obtained from other people, or content submitted for fraudulent or misleading purposes.
Social Shelf may reject submissions that do not meet the platform’s requirements.
Changes to the program
Social Shelf may update submission requirements, eligibility criteria, compensation terms or other program details. Any applicable changes should be communicated to contributors before they affect new submissions.
